Hong Kong Reports 21 Mpox Cases Since August; Latest Case Involved 29-Year-Old Man
The Centre for Health Protection reported that 21 mpox cases have been documented in Hong Kong since August, with the most recent case involving a 29-year-old man. The total number of cases this year has reached 30.

According to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) on Saturday, the most recent case, which involved a 29-year-old man, increased the total count of mpox cases in Hong Kong this year to 30. This total is composed of 23 local cases and seven imported cases. Of these, 21 cases, which account for 70 per cent of the total, have been recorded since August.
Epidemiological inquiries indicated that all 21 patients reported engaging in high-risk sexual behavior during the incubation period. This behavior included having sexual contact with unfamiliar men or multiple partners, and having sexual contact without the use of a condom.
