According to the South China Morning Post, New Delhi is providing Central Asian countries with the Akash missile system, which is presented as a budget-friendly and dependable alternative. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed the most recent sales last Thursday and characterized the Akash as one of India's successful achievements.

The Akash is a short-range surface-to-air missile system developed domestically by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation. This system is capable of engaging multiple aerial targets simultaneously and incorporates built-in defenses against electronic jamming.

According to the Defence Ministry, the missile has an operational range spanning from 4.5km to 25km, and it can strike aerial targets at altitudes ranging from 100 metres to 20km (328 feet to 12½ miles). Each missile is approximately 5.87 metres (19-foot) in length and weighs around 710kg (1,565lbs), utilizing command guidance to lock onto its targets.
