According to the BBC UK, a man in his 30s passed away after a vehicle impacted the entrance of a Lidl supermarket in Wolverhampton. Police were notified of the incident at the Finchfield Hill supermarket shortly before 18:00 BST on Friday. West Midlands Police reported that the man was declared deceased at the location, and several other individuals received medical attention for injuries.

West Midlands Fire Service stated that four crews were dispatched to the incident at 17:51 BST, with two crews remaining at the scene as of 20:05 BST. The car had smashed through the shop's entrance and remained inside the doors on Friday evening when emergency services arrived.

Tina Bonev, who witnessed the crash, described the event as "absolutely terrifying" and noted that there was "shock and confusion" afterward. Eyewitness videos provided to the BBC showed shoppers positioned only a few metres from where the car struck the store. Debris from the vehicle and merchandise from the shelves were scattered across the store floor when an alarm sounded and a man called out, "Everyone get out the store."

A woman was heard asking if anyone could provide first aid. Police have established a cordon on Finchfield Road West and Finchfield Hill, with a fire engine situated outside the supermarket. Police indicated that the roads were anticipated to remain closed for a period and advised drivers to use alternative routes.

Cars were observed in the Lidl car park, and the shop's entrance appeared to have sustained damage. A police spokesperson stated that the man's death is not being investigated as suspicious and expressed condolences to his family, adding that officers are still at the scene to assist fire and ambulance personnel with their inquiries.
