Mineral cites European streams as Guyana tour gets underway
Kaieteur News reports that Mineral’s Trap Dancehall music has drawn thousands of streams in Europe, while he says he is disappointed by its lower traction in Guyana. His Guyana tour is underway, with shows completed in Linden and Berbice and further stops planned before his stated goals of touring the Caribbean and Europe.
Kaieteur News reports a contrast between the European reach of Joel Lynch’s music, performed as Mineral, and his view that it has received less support in Guyana. The publication says his Trap Dancehall tracks have earned thousands of streams on music platforms in Europe. Mineral told the newspaper he was disappointed the style was not getting similar traction at home.
His Guyana tour, organized with Bobby Cush Entertainment to promote his music, has already begun. Mineral said performances had taken place in Linden (Region 10) and Berbice (Region Six), with Bartica next, followed by Port Kaituma (Region One), the West Coast (Region Three) and Mahdia (Region 8). He said some venues had sold out; the article does not specify which ones.
Mineral’s stated goal is to tour all ten regions before organizing tours in the Caribbean and then Europe. Those are future aims, distinct from the Guyana shows already completed and the listed upcoming stops. Kaieteur News describes Trap Dancehall as a fusion of Hip Hop and Dancehall and reports that his latest single, “King,” was released on Friday.
