Mox Bank, BOCHK, ZA Bank, and Citibank Hong Kong Apps Rank Among Top 10 in Asia-Pacific, HSBC’s App Drops from Third to Eighth

According to a study from Sia Partners, which was previewed by the South China Morning Post, banking applications from Mox Bank, Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK), ZA Bank, and Citibank Hong Kong have been placed within the top 10 in the Asia-Pacific area. HSBC’s app, however, dropped from third to eighth place among Hong Kong rivals as additional features translated to a poor user experience, Sia Partners says.

Sia, an international consulting firm, evaluated 145 banking applications across 20 markets spanning Europe, Asia, and Australia. The assessment utilized 100 criteria, encompassing functionality, user experience, and feedback, with each application receiving a score ranging from 0 to 100.

In the annual Mobile Banking Benchmark study, Mox Bank's application, which is supported by Standard Chartered in collaboration with Trip.com, HKT, and PCCW, achieved the first rank in Hong Kong and the fifth rank in Asia-Pacific, earning a score of 67.

BOCHK secured the second position in Hong Kong and the seventh position in Asia-Pacific, with a score of 65. ZA Bank ranked third in Hong Kong and eighth in Asia-Pacific, receiving a score of 64. Citibank Hong Kong was ranked fourth in Hong Kong and ninth in the region, achieving a score of 63.
