New Huanggang Port Crossing Details Registration Requirements for Hong Kong and Mainland Residents
The South China Morning Post reports that the revamped Huanggang Port will open on Monday, featuring a 24/7 checkpoint that will utilize a "joint clearance" model, requiring registration for both Hong Kong and mainland Chinese residents.
The Huanggang Port is scheduled to open on Monday following over six years of redevelopment and various preparatory drills. This new 24/7 checkpoint will be the first to implement the "joint clearance" model, allowing passengers to complete both entry and departure clearance within one automated channel consisting of three gates.
The South China Morning Post provided information regarding the necessary steps to navigate this new checkpoint. Regarding the "joint clearance" system, it has been stated that residents from both Hong Kong and mainland China must register with the immigration authorities on both sides of the border to utilize the facilities. Hong Kong residents have several methods available for registration.
