OpenAI's GPT-6 Sparks Hopes for Embodied Intelligence Breakthrough

Wang Xingxing, CEO of a Hangzhou-based company, stated in the South China Morning Post that OpenAI's GPT-6 model has raised expectations for a breakthrough in embodied intelligence within one to two years, with a potential GPT-7 release next year. In August, before GPT-6’s release, Wang said the industry could take two to three years at its fastest pace, or as long as a decade, to reach its “ChatGPT moment” – a critical threshold of technological maturity.

According to the South China Morning Post, Wang Xingxing, who is also the CEO of a company located in Hangzhou, commented on Monday that the recent advancements made by OpenAI with its GPT-6 model have led to expectations that a significant breakthrough might occur within a timeframe of one or two years.

At an industry event held in Shanghai, Wang suggested that it is conceivable that a GPT-7 model, if released next year, could directly resolve the challenges associated with embodied intelligence.

Prior to the introduction of GPT-6 in August, Wang had indicated that the industry might require a minimum of two to three years, or potentially up to a decade, to achieve what he termed its "ChatGPT moment," which he described as a crucial level of technological maturity.
