Saudi Arabia Reports New Drone and Cruise Missile Attacks Amid Security Threats
The South China Morning Post reports that Saudi Arabia announced new drone and cruise missile attacks on Monday, presenting new security risks to the kingdom, following previous deadly strikes on Riyadh airport.
According to the South China Morning Post, Saudi Arabia stated that it was managing new attacks involving drones and cruise missiles on Monday, which presented fresh security concerns for the kingdom. This development followed deadly strikes that occurred at Riyadh airport over the weekend.
The state-run Saudi Press Agency indicated that the kingdom had detected and was monitoring a threat involving drones and cruise missiles directed at the kingdom, and that this threat was being addressed. This information was cited from Defense Ministry spokesman Turki al-Maliki, who spoke on behalf of a Saudi-led coalition engaged in operations against the Iran-backed Houthis.
Earlier, the coalition had stated that it had intercepted missiles and drones intended for the kingdom overnight, including those aimed at locations containing some of Saudi Arabia's vital oil and gas infrastructure.
