According to the South China Morning Post, Tesla has finalized a deal to integrate the digital payment software belonging to the Chinese fintech giant Ant Group, Alipay, into its vehicles within China. This move by Elon Musk's company appears to be part of efforts to provide localized smart features amidst significant competition in the Chinese market.

The fintech firm stated that the agreement, which was signed on Tuesday, will result in Tesla deploying an Alipay-powered smart parking service across its fleet in China. This capability would permit drivers to settle parking charges directly through the touchscreens located inside their vehicles. Alipay also mentioned that further features intended for "in-car lifestyle scenarios" are currently under development.

Neither Tesla nor Ant Group disclosed a specific launch date or which particular car models will receive this feature, although Alipay indicated that the rollout would occur through a "forthcoming software update."
