Three Reported Robberies Across Georgetown, WBD and EBD
Guyana Times reported three alleged armed robberies on Friday: in Stanleytown between 19:30 and 20:00, Nandy Park at about 20:20, and North Road in Georgetown at about 20:30. No arrests were reported in the first and last of those cases; two men were arrested in connection with the Nandy Park case.
Guyana Times reported that the earliest of three alleged armed robberies took place in Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara, between 19:30 and 20:00 on Friday. Two Cuban nationals travelling to Wales were reportedly robbed of two phones, a wristwatch, a wallet and $8,000 after one suspect allegedly displayed a handgun. Police said cameras were present in the area and footage would be reviewed; no arrests had been made in that case.
At about 20:20, a businessman was allegedly robbed of a dark blue iPhone 14 Plus and $10,000 in Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara. Police arrested two men after checks in the area; they remained in custody pending further investigations. The latest reported incident was at about 20:30 at a North Road bar in Georgetown, where a security officer allegedly handed over his 9mm service pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition to a male known to him. No arrest had been made in that case, and investigations were continuing.
