Three Students Arrested in Connection with Death of 16-Year-Old at Malaysian School
Malaysian police apprehended three 16-year-old students following the discovery of the body of 16-year-old Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairul Faisal in a school hall. One suspect was subsequently detained by the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court.
According to the South China Morning Post, the body of 16-year-old Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairul Faisal was discovered inside the school hall in Yong Peng at approximately 5:30 pm, as reported by Sinar Harian. The victim's grandmother was the one who found the body. Malaysian police subsequently arrested three 16-year-old suspects who were students at the same school as the deceased, shortly after the body was uncovered. On Sunday, one of the suspects was brought before the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court, where a judge granted permission for his detention for six days until Friday to aid in the continuing investigations.
