According to the South China Morning Post, Tokyo has expressed its condemnation of Moscow's actions concerning Tomoko Akane and eight other officials, while also pledging to 'take the appropriate path of action.'
Japan's Deputy Cabinet Secretary Masanao Ozaki stated during a routine press conference on Friday morning that Japan has repeatedly communicated to the Russian side that measures aimed at individuals associated with the International Criminal Court (ICC) are both unacceptable and unfair. Ozaki expressed regret that the Russian side proceeded to request that various nations extradite these individuals.
Ozaki further indicated that Japan intends to pursue the appropriate course of action, which includes issuing additional protests against the Russian side regarding this unjust measure, based on ongoing communication with the ICC and other signatories.
