The South China Morning Post reports that Turkmenistan has incorporated the FK-2000 missile-and-gun system into its growing inventory of air defenses manufactured in China, which underscores the increasing involvement of Beijing in the Central Asian arms market, a sector that was previously dominated by Russia.

Footage from Turkmenistan's Independence Day parade in Ashgabat on September 27 reportedly showed at least 10 FK-2000 vehicles, alongside various other pieces of military hardware made in China.

The FK-2000, which was developed by the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, functions as a mobile air defense system. This system integrates missiles and twin 30mm (1.1 inches) cannons with integrated radar and electro-optical sensors.

This system is intended to defend against aerial dangers, which include drones, helicopters, aircraft, and precision-guided weapons.
