Raul Binand has been remanded to custody following the discovery of approximately 48.4 pounds (21.972 kilogrammes) of cocaine in a vehicle on David Street, Kitty, on Wednesday, as reported by the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU).
During a court appearance before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, Binand pleaded not guilty to charges of cocaine possession with intent to distribute. His bail application was denied, and he will remain incarcerated until July 11, 2025.
According to CANU, the vehicle was intercepted and upon thorough inspection, numerous parcels containing a suspicious white powdery substance, identified as cocaine, were seized. Following the incident, Binand and other individuals associated with the vehicle were taken into custody for further questioning.
