A local resident was handed a hefty fine of $595,000 after pleading guilty to multiple traffic-related offenses. Lorenzo Singh, 33, appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court and was charged with driving under the influence, breach of insurance, obscured identification marks on his vehicle, and unlicensed driving.
He was fined $400,000 for driving while intoxicated, $25,000 for failing to have valid insurance, $130,000 for altering his vehicle’s identification number, and $40,000 for not possessing a valid driver’s license. Singh pleaded guilty to all charges and the court accepted his plea.
This case highlights the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations to ensure road safety and prevent unnecessary fines.
