
A young tour guide’s life was cut short during a cultural celebration in the Rupununi region. John Elliot, 21, was fatally stabbed on Sunday evening at an Amerindian Heritage event in Annai Village.
According to police reports, a confrontation between Elliot and three male suspects led to the fatal stabbing. The main suspect, a 16-year-old resident of Annai Village, was arrested and is currently being held at the Annai Police Station.
Elliot’s body was examined, revealing two stab wounds before a post-mortem examination was scheduled for Monday. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts to apprehend the other suspects, Orlando and Ronaldo Williams.
