The lifeless body of 38-year-old Chandini ‘Savi’ Persaud was discovered at the Stewartville seawall on the West Coast of Demerara, marking a devastating conclusion to her days-long disappearance.
Chandini had gone missing since November 14, 2025, leaving behind family and friends who anxiously awaited news of her whereabouts. Her body, which remained unidentified for several days, was finally confirmed as hers on Thursday, November 20, after a friend recognized the tattoo that adorned her skin.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Chandini’s death, with no signs of foul play initially suspected. However, a post-mortem examination is still pending to determine the cause of her passing.
A firearm was discovered in an abandoned plot of land in Tabatinga, while another .38 revolver was seized from a 23-year-old man’s residence in Herstelling, East Bank Demerara. Police are working diligently to unravel the mystery behind Chandini’s tragic demise and bring justice to her loved ones.
