A horrific incident unfolded this morning in an apartment on Pike Street, Kitty, where a 21-year-old Cuban woman named Davely Morales was fatally attacked by her stepfather. Morales had relocated to Guyana from Cuba with her mother, stepfather, and younger sister, where they had secured rented accommodation.
At approximately 7 AM, distressing screams originating from the apartment prompted a neighboring tenant to investigate. Upon entering, he witnessed 40-year-old Wispriey Alfonso brandishing a chopper and assaulting his wife. The tenant also saw the stepdaughter, Davely, on the floor, severely wounded. Despite her injuries, she managed to escape the apartment but unfortunately collapsed outside and was later pronounced dead.
Following the attack, the perpetrator was seen exiting the building with the weapon. Emergency services were alerted, and both women were rushed to the hospital. While the mother received critical care, Davely succumbed to her injuries.
Remarkably, Alfonso later turned himself in at the Kitty Police Station, still in possession of the murder weapon, and was promptly arrested. Authorities have initiated an ongoing investigation into this tragic event.
