A 57-year-old police officer in Australia was fatally shot while serving a warrant on a rural property in Tasmania. The incident occurred on Monday morning in North Motton, near Ulverstone, when the officer was targeted by a member of the public.
In response, a second officer returned fire, injuring the suspect, who subsequently surrendered and received medical attention. Law enforcement confirmed that such violent acts are uncommon in Australia, known for its stringent gun regulations.
