The United States has launched another drone strike against a vessel suspected of being involved in illicit activities, this time in the Caribbean Sea.
The operation was announced by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who stated that six individuals believed to be connected to the notorious Tren de Aragua criminal organisation were on board and killed.
This latest strike is part of an ongoing campaign by the Trump administration to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Since early September, the US has conducted ten such strikes, primarily targeting vessels off the coast of South America and the Caribbean.
However, concerns have been raised by lawmakers from both parties regarding the legality of these actions and President Trump’s authority to order them.
The administration maintains that it has the necessary legal framework in place to carry out these operations.
