A University of Southern California (USC) graduate student has been accused of drugging and raping multiple women over a three-year period, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
Sizhe Weng, 30, is facing eight felony counts, including rape and sodomy, with evidence suggesting a pattern of assaults dating back to 2021. He is being held without bail pending a preliminary hearing set for January 14, 2026.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges against Weng, who is also known as Steven Weng, a Chinese national pursuing a doctorate at USC. He was arrested on August 28 and pleaded not guilty at an arraignment on September 2.
Prosecutors said three women have been identified so far, but investigators believe there may be additional victims. If convicted, Weng faces 25 years to life plus 56 years in California state prison.
The university is cooperating fully with law enforcement and has barred Weng from campus during the ongoing investigation.
