Police are investigating a bizarre incident in which a man, believed to be struggling with mental health issues, caused significant damage to two commercial banks along Strand Road, New Amsterdam.
The suspect allegedly entered Scotia Bank and used a metal object to shatter the building’s front glass before making his way to Republic Bank, where he damaged both ATMs and the front access door glass.
Police patrols are currently conducting searches for the suspect, while crime scene investigators process evidence at the scene.
