A woman named Caroline Shaw, 49, from Orlando, was arrested on July 7 after expressing a desire to deliver an “urgent message” to former President Donald Trump during her approach to the Mar-a-Lago estate. She claimed there were firearms in her vehicle, prompting U.S. Secret Service agents to detain her at the south gate.
At that time, Trump was in Washington, D.C. Shaw arrived in a Mercedes van shortly before 10 p.m. and asked to speak with the President, leading to her arrest due to operating a vehicle with a suspended license and failing to register it. Shaw’s driver’s license had been suspended since April 23, 2023, and her vehicle registration expired in December 2021.
After her request to communicate with Trump, Shaw informed the agents of the presence of guns in her van, which led to the vehicle being secured for investigation. As of July 9, she remained at the Palm Beach County Jail with a bond set at $2,000 and entered a not-guilty plea, with a court order preventing her from approaching Trump or his properties.
This incident indicates a pattern of security breaches at Mar-a-Lago, as several other individuals have attempted unauthorized access recently, raising significant security concerns.
