A driver has been fined $30,000 after he was found guilty of driving recklessly along the Rupert Craig Highway, damaging several newly planted palm trees. The incident occurred in the city, where authorities had invested time and resources into beautifying the area.
The driver, Terrence Alstrom, pleaded guilty to the charge of dangerous driving and has since compensated the Ministry of Public Works for the damage caused. The total cost of the damages is estimated to be $240,000.
