Cathay Sets January End Date for Dubai and Riyadh Passenger Cancellations
Passenger services are cancelled through January 31, 2027, but Cathay Cargo has not set a freighter restart date. Affected travellers can change plans or seek a refund, Cathay says.
The South China Morning Post reported a clear difference between Cathay Pacific Airways’ passenger and cargo plans: passenger flights to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia will remain cancelled through January 31, 2027, while Cathay Cargo is still reviewing when freighter services to those cities can resume. The January date applies to passenger services; the report gives no cargo restart date.
SCMP described the passenger-flight extension as the airline’s third delay to resuming service since the US-Israel war on Iran began. Cathay said affected travellers can change their bookings, take a different route or request a refund. The airline also said it would continue monitoring the situation in the Middle East.
