China and Vietnam are developing railways, increasing flights, and strengthening cargo connections to utilize their close proximity for increased trade and tourism, according to the South China Morning Post.
Neighboring manufacturing powerhouses China and Vietnam are developing railway infrastructure, increasing air travel, and enhancing cargo connections to capitalize on their geographic closeness for further growth in trade and tourism, a move intended to assist both nations in managing pressure from the United States, reports the South China Morning Post.
Jack Nguyen, the CEO of the business services platform Ascentium in Vietnam, stated that the narrative of connectivity between China and Vietnam is evolving from basic cross-border trade into a more comprehensive corridor encompassing manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and supply chains.
Both nations' economies are significantly dependent on manufactured exports destined for markets such as the United States, various parts of Asia, and Europe. China also provides raw materials to manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, while Vietnam exports electronics and machinery back to China.
