Mark Cain, 45, residing in Fern Hill in Dersingham, Norfolk, appeared before magistrates in Norwich earlier, facing accusations of her murder. Hannah Cain was listed as part of the team at Grimston Medical Centre, which resumed operations on Wednesday following a two-day closure. Furthermore, The Sun newspaper reported that she was part of a group of doctors who were regularly on call for members of the Royal Family. Dersingham is situated near the royal Sandringham estate in west Norfolk, while Grimston is located to the south.

During proceedings at Norwich Magistrates' Court, prosecutor Jacqui Hanlon stated that paramedics were dispatched to Hannah Cain's home on Fern Hill at 02:25 BST on Sunday. Hanlon reported that the GP was found in an upstairs bedroom unresponsive, neither breathing nor conscious. A post-mortem examination indicated a blunt force injury to the right side of Hannah Cain's head, along with an injury that could suggest neck compression.

District judge Matthew Bone remanded Mark Cain into custody, ordering him to appear at King's Lynn Crown Court on Thursday. Grimston Medical Centre stated it would not comment on the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Hannah Cain after reopening on Wednesday.
