GT/ECD T10 knockout offers the final place in October 11 national final
Thirty-two teams begin the Georgetown and East Coast Demerara knockout on September 26, competing for the zone’s $500,000 title and the fourth place in the October 11 national final. Kaieteur News reports that admission is free across venues this weekend; coolers will not be permitted at the quarter-finals and zonal final.
The Georgetown and East Coast Demerara zone’s 32-team knockout decides the last berth in the October 11 national final at Anna Regina National Stadium. Kaieteur News reports that Berbice champions Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars, East Bank/West Demerara champions Mahdia – Movements Family and Essequibo champions Lusignan Bulls DTP II have already qualified. The zone champion will join them and receive $500,000 for the zonal title.
That award is distinct from the national prize structure: the national champion is set to receive $2 million, the runner-up $1 million, and each losing semi-finalist $500,000. The knockout starts September 26 with 16 matches across four venues. Winners move to the Round of 16 on September 27, followed by quarter-finals on October 3 and the semi-finals and zonal final on October 4.
For spectators, Kaieteur News reports that admission is free across all venues throughout the weekend. Organizers say coolers will not be permitted at the quarter-finals and zonal final.
