Guyana Masters World Cup plan outlined as readiness checks continue

Meetings have outlined a security and logistics plan for Guyana’s October 17-November 1 Over-40s World Cup, but ground evaluations and police escort preparations are continuing. General admission is free; season tickets for private booths at Providence are available for purchase.

Kaieteur News reports that Tournament Director Raj Singh said planning intensified after meetings with the Government of Guyana, the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force. Those sessions outlined a security and logistics plan for the International Masters Cricket (IMC) Over-40s World Cup, scheduled for October 17 to November 1. Preparations are not finished: grounds from Berbice to Essequibo are being evaluated, and police are establishing escort services to transport players from the airport to hotels and venues.

The tournament is planned to bring 16 international teams together for 72 matches across 10 venues. Among the grounds named by Kaieteur News are Georgetown Cricket Club at Bourda and Anna Regina Stadium. The ongoing evaluations and escort arrangements are operational work still underway alongside the plan outlined at the meetings.

Spectator access has two tiers. General admission at all venues is free, while season tickets for 10 to 12 private booths at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence are available for purchase.
