Hong Kong Crime: Family Members Plead Guilty in Case Related to Choi's Death
The South China Morning Post reports that while Hong Kong is often regarded as a safe city, it has experienced sensational crimes, including a case where Choi's ex-husband and his brother pleaded guilty to obstructing the lawful burial of her body, while the father pleaded not guilty.
According to the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong, despite its reputation as one of the world's safest cities, has witnessed numerous sensational and gruesome crimes.
In a case involving Choi, her ex-husband, Alex Kwong Kong-chi, who is 31 years old, along with his older brother, Anthony Kwong Kong-kit, aged 35, have entered guilty pleas regarding the prevention of the lawful burial of her remains. Conversely, their father, Kwong Kau, who is 68, has pleaded not guilty to the identical charge. All three men have denied any involvement in the murder of Choi.
Furthermore, the South China Morning Post noted instances such as the Plaza Hollywood stabbings in 2023. Information concerning an unprovoked assault, which was recorded on CCTV, circulated extensively online, thereby increasing public concerns about safety while the city was still in the process of recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
