According to the South China Morning Post, HSBC revealed its stablecoin offering as HSBC RedCoin, setting the stage for the major Hong Kong lender to provide the coin to more than 3.3 million users of its PayMe application for activities such as shopping, dining, and money transfers.
HSBC stated that when the stablecoin is launched prior to the end of the year, it will be exclusively available through the PayMe platform and the HSBC Hong Kong mobile banking app.
