Netanyahu Working with US Figures to Launch Quick Air Campaign in Iran After US Midterm Elections
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly working with senior US figures to persuade Trump to initiate a swift and broad air campaign against Iran, according to reports from regional officials and a source familiar with the situation.
According to the South China Morning Post, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly working with senior US figures to launch a quick but extensive air campaign in Iran, subsequent to the midterm elections held in the United States on Tuesday. This assertion is based on accounts from two regional officials and one individual familiar with the subject matter.
An official stated that Netanyahu is collaborating with high-ranking US figures to convince Donald Trump to carry out a rapid yet extensive aerial campaign within Iran. A potential escalation to a full-scale war with Iran could assist Netanyahu in forming an emergency government, following the loss of his parliamentary majority and that of his far-right allies during last week's elections. US President Donald Trump has alternated between threatening significant strikes and advocating for a diplomatic agreement with Iran.
Regarding diplomatic progress, the two officials mentioned that Qatari mediators conducted two rounds of discussions with Iranian officials last week. These mediators are reportedly attempting to advance a structure wherein Iran would halt its attacks in the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the United States removing its blockade on Iranian ports.
