President Trump to Award Top US Scientific Honors to Tech Leaders on Thursday
The White House announced that President Donald Trump will bestow the top US scientific award, the National Medal of Science, upon close ally Elon Musk and other prominent technology executives during a ceremony on Thursday.
According to the South China Morning Post, the White House stated that President Donald Trump is scheduled to present the highest US scientific honor to close ally Elon Musk and several other technology leaders at a ceremony on Thursday.
Google co-founder Sergei Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and AMD chief Lisa Su are among those who will receive the National Medal of Science at the event titled “Science: A New Golden Age.”
Furthermore, computer mogul Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella are set to receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, which is noted as the premier award in its respective field.
White House spokeswoman Liz Huston commented in a statement released on Wednesday that the Trump administration appreciates the contributions made by these remarkable leaders in the areas of science and technology, adding that these recipients are assisting in maintaining America's global leadership in innovation.
