WestK Launches First Large-Scale Urban Picnic Festival at Art Park This Autumn
WestK is hosting its inaugural large-scale urban picnic festival this autumn at the Art Park, which will feature gourmet food, live music, cultural workshops, and slow-living activities. The event, running until October 11 on weekends and public holidays, will feature partnerships with sixteen food and beverage venues in the West Kowloon Cultural District.
According to the South China Morning Post, WestK is launching its first large-scale urban picnic festival this autumn at the Art Park, which will feature gourmet food, live music, cultural workshops, and slow-living experiences. The Harbourside East Lawn at the Art Park provides an outdoor setting with views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, offering an outdoor escape without sacrificing convenience. The WestK Picnic Fest is scheduled to take place on weekends and public holidays until October 11.
Sixteen food and beverage venues within the West Kowloon Cultural District are collaborating with the event to offer exclusive picnic sets. Additionally, limited-time food stalls are planned to provide a diverse selection of tastes, ranging from artisanal doughnuts and craft beers to Korean bites and elevated Hong Kong street snacks. Visitors can rent picnic necessities, such as tables, mats, foldable chairs, portable fans, and lanterns, on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to refundable deposits.
Beyond the culinary offerings, the festival includes various activities. The Picnic Club will be present to promote the concept of slow living under the theme of “Localisation.” Workshops are available that draw inspiration from Hong Kong’s cultural heritage and natural environments, including harp therapy, creating botanical ceramics, and crafting natural fragrances. Furthermore, there will be curated farm-to-table encounters featuring seasonal ingredients in partnership with the Hong Kong coffee brand Nutmad. For those wishing to combine activities, WestK’s Bike & Picnic Pass bundles rentals for bicycles, picnic mats, and lanterns, and also grants access to special merchant offers and themed experience sessions.
