The search for 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard continues as her mother, Ashley, allegedly held a man captive and switched license plates on a rental car during their road trip.
According to Melodee’s paternal grandmother, Lilly Denes, Ashlee had been struggling with mental health issues and was placed in a hospital in 2021. Social services contacted Denes and asked if she could take care of Melodee to avoid foster care, but the adoption process was short-lived.
